This comprehensive course runs for one weekend a month over six months, from January to June 2020.
The course is accredited by the CMA (Complimentary Medical Association) and is recognised by all insurance companies which provide services to complimentary health practices. The student will graduate with a qualification and confidence to practice Thai Massage on anyone.
The course content includes the history and philosophy of Thai Massage, the many techniques and sequences employed in the practice and the theory of Sen lines and how they are worked within the massage sequences.
Practical techniques of this healing art are handed down from teacher to pupil in a way that respects the classical form and embodies Buddhist principles of Metta (loving kindness), Karuna (compassion), Mudita (joy) and Uppekha (freedom).
Each day begins with a yoga and meditation class. This helps the mind to be completely present and the body to be strong and flexible, setting the students up perfectly for a day of learning Thai Massage.
The course concludes (prior to assessment) with an observed clinic day at The Yoga Garden where the students offer visitors free 20 minute taster Thai Massage sessions throughout the day. This is a unique and wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of different bodies and personalities and a chance to implement all the new skills and knowledge learnt during the course.
Taught by Chessy Tudor-Williams and Nina Fowkes who both graduated in Thailand (ITM School of Massage in Chiang Mai and Wat Po Medical School) as practitioners and teachers in Nuad Bo Ram (Thai) Massage, 10 - 15 years ago. Between them they have over 45 years of body work experience and training.
“Chessy presented the training in a calm, relaxed manner with great patience, adapting to the pace of learning within the group”.
