About the workshop

Weekend One 20th & 21st April Weekend Two 7th & 8th September. This is an in-depth study of the Cacao plant medicine. Who is for? For all of those already working with cacao or for people who would like to have cacao in their lives as medicine. Cacao is and has been for thousands of years a spiritual tradition, apart of being an incredible super food, its medicinal powers comes from its ritualistic origins, which comes from the original people of Mesoamerica. After this intensive study you will have the tools understand how this plant spirit has the potential to alleviate many ailments, you will gain the knowledge and permission to step into a cacao tradition cultural origins, and thereby step into the community of people around the world honouring the Mayan tribes’ rights, safeguarding what belongs to them, and with respect can belong to you too. Cacao is the medicine of the heart, and it is an extraordinary plant medicine that facilitates meditation journeys, helping to plant the seeds of change, for connecting with our hearts, for releasing blockages, and creating the opportunity to contact with positive emotions and the Great Spirit. During the program you will discover and experience the history and legends of Mesoamerican cultures through the embodiment of their sacred myths around Cacao and Corn which are the seeds of origin for the original Mesoamerican people. In undertaking this intensive program, you will understand why cacao is used in ceremonies and how it is a powerful healer. Marcela follows the tradition from the Cacao Guardians of the Yokot'an Mayas in the state of Tabasco Mexico. She is in an active process of tracing back and reclaiming her Yaqui Indigenous roots, she is in commitment with the Great Spirit to spread and translate the ancestral knowledge into these times. Day schedule Arrival at 10 am 10:00 – 1:00 pm Introduction of the Mayan Cosmology and teaching of the syllabus content of each module. 1:00 – 2:00 pm Lunch (please bring your own lunch) 2:00 – 5:30 pm Practice. Consisting in storytelling, cacao group preparation, building of the Maya Altar and culmination with a Cacao Ritual, where we will embody the Myth of the oral tradition Module 1: Cacao Medicine as a Resource (Sat 20th April) Module 2: Cacao and Corn the Seeds of Origin (Sun 21st April) Module 3: Ancestral Maya Agriculture (Sat 7th September) Module 4: Cacao, Recipe of Rebirth (Sun 8th September)
